DIY: Halloween Tree & Witches Legs!

Since our move I have really been cleaning out and purging
a lot of items, even Christmas decorations:(

Don't get me wrong I love to decorate for each holiday but
I have noticed that I appreciate the less is move approach here lately!

Since I will not be decorating 5 Christmas trees this year
I have decided to donate and sell a lot of the items that are not going to be used in this upcoming year.  When I came
across this little 4 foot tree in my stash I almost got rid of it but thought
at the last minute about spray painting it black and using it as a Halloween
decoration and that's exactly what I did!!

Here is the tree after being spray painted black!  Thanks to my wonderful
hubby who did such a nice job for me!

Below is the after picture of the tree all decorated!
I actually had all of the supplies needed to decorate this tree in my
stash!  I re-used the witches hat from last year as a tree topper, added deco mesh,
ribbon, and hand made picks to the tree.  I really love all of the fun colors
and how well it ties in with all of our decorations on the front porch!

Below is just another view of the tree.  It really looks pretty
at night when it is lit and the orange lights shine through the deco mesh!

So now onto the second project I finished for my Halloween display
outside........... Witches Legs!
I really love how cute and fun witches legs and shoes are so I wanted to
do something to incorporate that into my display!

Ok so from the picture above it doesn't look like a Halloween decoration
or anything creative for that matter but wait you will see!

I had an old pair of stripped tights from a couple of years ago that I thought would
be perfect for my witches legs!  However I wanted the legs to come out of the ground and
stand up so that is where I had to get a little creative!  I went out to the garage and started
to look through my hubby's workshop and all of the sudden I saw two old
golf shafts that he recently swapped out!  The shafts are perfect for the up
right display that I wanted but are too thin for the stockings so I rolled old magazines
up around the shafts and stuffed them with newspaper to give a more
full impression!  I have to admit I am pretty happy with the turn out!
I didn't have boots so I went to the Goodwill and scored the most amazing pair of
witches boots for only $4.00!!  :)

So here is what they look like!
Sorry for my shadow being in both pictures but you get the idea.
I think they are just a fun addition!  I love decorating for Halloween but I am more
on the fun and whimsical side than the scary!

Here is another view!

Last but not least is a witch inspired wreath I made for our front
door!  I re-used a sign and witches legs from a display I had last
year!  I really love legs come out the side of the wreath!

Well I hope you are getting ready the upcoming Halloween Holiday!
Remember to look through what you currently have and see if anything can
be used in a different way!  You don't need to run out the store and break the
bank for decorations.................... you will need to save that money for candy!!!! :)

I will be joining the following awesome blog parties:
