Tissue Box Re-Do!!

Well this weekend I was up in our attic in the garage and came across
this old tissue box that I haven't used in a couple of years and
thought I might be able to give it a face lift:)

Here is a before picture:

I also thought I would paint these old containers that I use to
use for my jewelry and put my scrapbooking goodies inside them.

Here is what they looked like before:

Here is the tissue box after a few coats of Krylon "Watermelon"
spray paint.  You can still kind of see the greetings lettering
under the paint but that isn't really a big deal because it is going to be
covered with a design.

Here are all of the completed items!
I think they turned out pretty good!
I covered the boxes with scrapbooking flowers and bling just to give them a little
flair!  I am kind of going with a Paris theme in my Scrapbook room so
I cut the letters and the poodle out with my Cricut machine.
I used the Storybook cartridge for the letters and
Nifty Fifties for the poodle:)
Very inexpensive project that kept me busy and out of trouble!! :)

I will be linking up with these great party blogs over the next few days!!

and my craft room in the attic and I think I am finally getting a little
more organized and completing more projects!!! Yeah!

Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner and Love is in the Air,
I wanted to offer a giveaway to all of you fabulous bloggers out there:)

The giveaway contains:
A pack of Stampin Up Designer Series Paper
Stampin Up Valentine's Day Rub-Ons
3 Packs of Letter Stickers
& Another pack of Run Ons!

The winner will be announced:  2/10/12!!

To Enter for the FREE drawing just become of follower of
my blog and leave a comment on your favorite Spring Holiday to decorate for!
I have trouble with that question because they are all so much
fun!  I am really excited about Easter this year:)

Now here are some update pictures of my Scrapbook space!
I loved having it up in the attic but it really wasn't piratical when it was
cold or really hot so I moved back down in my original space and I have to
admit that I am pretty happy down here:)
I have been able to get a lot of projects completed!

Over in this corner is my Storage Container/ "Scrapbox" that
holds a lot of my scrap booking tools, paper, supplies, Cricut, etc.
Also over in this corner is my beloved Elliptical, I actually really do LOVE
this thing:)  I am on it at least 4-5 times a week!  Easy on the knees and
a good workout!

Over in this corner is my scrap paper storage area.
Nothing fancy but it does seem to work for me.
I just have 3 plastic container and store my scraps by color.

This is my supplies closet.
I store a lot of my stamps, punches, and inks in this area.
I think it keeps down on the clutter and makes it pretty easy to find what
I am looking for!
+

Here is a close up of my Thirty One Organizer, I really love all of
its compartments and it works really well for keeping
my business supplies organized:0)

This area over here stores all of my flowers, buttons, and
stickers.  The little cabinet stores all of my photo boxes
and miscellaneous items, but it was kind of mess so I didn't
want to show that to you!! :)

Here is a view of the room as you walk through the door.
I am not crazy about my desk/work station but it
was free and does give you a lot of space to work.

Well it is not a large space but it is my little
piece of heaven where I can create and make
things that make me happy:)

Well I hope you have enjoyed the tour and don't
forget to sign up for the free drawing!!!

Getting Ready for V-Day!

This year for a customer appreciation party for my businesses
I have decided to have a Girls Night Out Valentine's Party!

I love Valentine's Day and all of the pretty colors and chocolate that
are associated with it so this party should be a lot of fun!

So far I think I have 15 people coming so I am trying to get a few
decorations made and prizes together for the games!

Here is a Valentine's Day wreath I made over the weekend with
some supplies I had left over from Christmas!
That's the great thing about Christmas, you can re-use a lot
of your decorations for other holidays since there are so many color
choices:)

I used an old 12" greenery wreath
Red & White Deco mesh from Sam's
Some left over ribbon from Christmas
and a few red picks that I got at Hobby Lobby on Saturday
afternoon for 90% off!!!! Woo hoo, they were .19 each:)

Below is a picture of my treats for my goodie bags.
I covered Hershey Nuggets with scrapbook paper to give them a little
Valentine's Day Flair!

Here is the finished product, I think the girls
will appreciate them:)

So I had a pretty productive weekend:)
I got all of my treat bags finished, the decorations are good to go,
and I made a trip to Hobby Lobby!!! I just love
that place:)

So how was your weekend?
Did you create anything fun & fabulous:)

Happy Monday!

Making My Own Scrapbox!

Well I wanted to purchase a Scrapbox for many years
but didn't really have or want to spend that much for furniture when we
could put the money towards a more practical purchase:)

I know what is more practical than scrap booking:) he he!
Try explaining that one to your husband!

Here is a picture of the original "Scrapbox" I do love the design of it!

Look at all of those compartments!!
However at almost $1,600 I had to pass and make my own!

Here she is!! Isn't she pretty, he he!!
I bought this piece last summer for $10!  I have to admit I was
really happy with my purchase!
All she needed was her doors put on and a fresh coat of paint!

After: with a fresh coat of paint and no goodies inside yet!!

I did get a new pair of knobs for it at Michael's!
They were only a $1.00 each!

I was able to compress a lot of the clutter in this room with this
piece! I love how organized and easy to find everything is.

This drawer has envelopes:

My scrap paper storage containers:

Misc. Drawer:
Everybody needs one of those!

And finally the finished product in my room!
For only about $15 I have a nice piece of furniture that
stores a lot of supplies with out cluttering up my room:)

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to have a room tour
up shortly to show  you my new work space:)

Happy Wednesday!

Create Sign for my Scrapbook Room!

Well this weekend I spent a lot of time re-arranging furniture from
our attic back down to my old scrap booking space!  I move furniture a lot
in our house!
The reason for my move this time:) is the COLD weather! BRRRRR!
I love the attic because you can have it a mess and just leave it but
sometimes that is bad for me because I get overwhelmed and never really
get anything done!  So what I have done is move some items back around
and made the space work for me!
Later in the week I will show you my new space and my new
new version on my very own "Scrap Box"!
So as I was cleaning out I found this vinyl piece from Stampin UP'
that I bought a while back and never did anything with:( Same on me!
Also in the attic was  a perfect picture frame for this piece!

This was such an easy project and went well in my new scrapbook space:)
I applied the vinyl to the outside of the glass and then just took
some fun scrapbook paper and cut it to match the dimensions of the frame
and there you have it!!

The finished product!

I think it goes well with my new color scheme in the room.

I am kind of going with pink, green, and black...............well for now:)
I would like to paint this room but not sure what color to go
with and we have done a lot of painting over the last few months and
I could just use a break right now! :)

So what have you created lately?
Please share I would love to see your creations!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Changes to My Inside Decor!

So are you beating the winter blues by changing up your decor in your house?

Well after taking down all of our Christmas decorations our house felt
so empty so I decided to go shopping up in my attic to see
what I may have laying around to spruce up our house and
make it feel cozy again! :)

Here is a picture of my dining room from Christmas.
It was so full and cozy.

Here is our dinning room now.

I just changed out the seasonal decor and added a couple of
pieces I had around the house to give it a little flair.
I really like how it turned out and I finally got to hang the picture you
see over on the right!  I had it up in the attic since this past summer.  It
was a Goodwill find for only $7!!  Don't you just love those!

Here's a close up.

The cabinet below makes a great storage area
for all of my entertaining dishes and items that
I don't use daily.  It also makes a nice display area:)
Here she is at Christmas!

I like using everyday items in my house and just adding some seasonal
flair to the pieces!!  I didn't have an extra candles laying around that were
a good size to go in this candle holder so I filled it with pines cones:)

So I guess my decorating tip today is:
Use items that you currently have in your house!
It saves you money and clutter :)

I am so excited I have plans to work on a few projects this weekend!
I have a dresser that I hope to have finished to share with you!
Also a new layout to my scrapbook room:)!!

Have a great day!!

Low Fat Thin Crust Pizza At HOME!! :)

Well I know many of you are thinking that LOW FAT and Pizza
shouldn't be used in the same sentence!!

Yes I thought so too but I wanted to share with you a
pizza that I make using a store bought mix and low fat ingredients!

I think you will find it pretty yummy without all of the Guilt!!
Here is the mix I used and my new thin crust pizza pan I used!
The mix is super easy!! Just add water:)

Now I know this doesn't look like Papa John's but it is about 1/3 the fat!
I made 1/2 of it with FAT FREE Mozzarella Cheese and Onions, and
the other 1/2 was made with FAT FREE Cheddar cheese and Red Peppers, and Onions!
Yummy!

Here is the final product!
This serving size of 4 slices would be about 6.5 grams of fat
and about 600 calories.

Compared to a box pizza which is about 200 calories a slice and 12 grams of fat per slice!

I don't recommend eating this at every meal but this might
be a nice treat if you are on a diet without
blowing all of your hard work!

I also wanted to mention that I have been off Diet Coke & Coke Zero now
for 7 days!!  I know that is not a very long time but for me that is a big
accomplishment:)

I have been doing the Water Diet:)  I found this through Liz at
really has an awesome site so make sure you stop by.

The water diet pretty much consist of drinking
8oz of water before you eat
8oz while you eat
and 8oz right after you finish eating!

You really don't have to watch too closely what you eat because the
water fills you up!
Now I still do count calories and exercise regularly partly because
I enjoy it and I am happy to say that I am down 3lbs so far this week!!

I will keep you posted on my success!! I am just happy that I don't really
feel that I need the (3) Diet Cokes a day that I was drinking!!

Give it a try and see how you do:)

Warning!! You will go spend more time in the bathroom:)

Here's to getting healthy in 2012!!

Love Is in the Air Pals Blog Hop!!

Well ladies I don't know about you but I LOVE Valentine's Day!
I know most men and some women feel like it is a Hallmark made holiday
but I am ok with that:)  It is fun for one day to sit back and watch men
scramble around the grocery store and most flower shops looking for last
dozen of roses before he heads home!  Just teasing guys!

Valentine's Day has some really great colors!  Who doesn't love
all of those pinks, reds. and white color combinations!

You've probably hopped over from
I'm stop number 18 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for love themed paper projects from the Stampin' Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track!

 Here is my creation!

I made the heart shaped sugar cookie from our
Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps!
I love how fun and easy the cookies were to make!
This would be a great project to get the kids involved with:)

Below are two sample bags I made using the Big Shot
Top Note die and a few punches.  I think I might
give these away as a favor for my upcoming
"Girls Night Out Valentine's Party!!"

Here is a picture of the three Sweet Pressed Cookie stamps
that come in this set.

Here is a before oven shot! :)

As you can tell below I am no Pastry Chef!
I thought I would just add a little color with some pink
icing to give it that Valentine's Day feel!

Lastly here are two close ups of the goodie bags that I
put the cookies in.

Thanks for stopping by!

Taking Down Christmas & Getting Organized!

Well this week I plan to take down all of our Christmas decorations:(

I am excited about the New Year but I enjoyed this Christmas so much
it is sad to see it go!

I have all of my totes down out of the attic and ready to go.
I want to try to be more organized this year and put things away so I can
easily find them next Christmas.  I have a lot more than  what I started with!
I really scored some great deals over the last few days at all of the store's
after Christmas sales!  Sean really enjoyed the decorations more than I thought
he would and asked if we could do the tree in Red & Green next year so
when I was at Sam's the other day I scored two more big containers of their
100 Christmas  bulbs for only $14 each!!

Here are some great organizational ideas from Better Homes & Garden
Check out their website for printable labels for each room in your house.
Here are some of my favorites and how I plan to use them!!

or
www.bhg.com

I love organizing my desk and scrapbook room, it may
not stay like this long but it feels good to have it organized for a little!

I really love how this pantry looks and one
day hope to have mine look like this:)
I think I will save some money back and invest in
some nice containers like these below to keep our
snacks and goodies organized!

I think this one is great especially if you have kids.
You give each member in your family their own bucket and helps keep down
on the clutter!!
I don't have kids but think I might try this with the dog stuff
and what Sean and I leave sitting around in the kitchen area!

I think this one is just adorable!
Look at how cute these everyday little
girl's items look in organized containers!!
Love it!

So do you have any rooms in your house that needs
attention or needs to be organized?

Any good organizational tips to share?

I feel like this upcoming weekend I will be in full cleaning mode!

Happy Organizing in 2012!!
