Storage Solutions!

It seems like 2013 so far for me has been all about getting
things done and organized!  I have been cleaning out, re-painting,
and trying to be as organized as I can be:)

I wanted to share with you our dining room.  It is not huge so storing
all of my table accessories can be a challenge.  I didn't really want to buy another
piece of furniture for this room because I don't really have room for it:(

Below is a general picture of our dinning room so you
can get an idea of how big it is.  12 X 12 to be exact.

So in this picture you will see I added another mirror to this wall.
This piece was a left over from our living room re-vamp....SCORE :)
I was worried that two mirrors in such a small space might not look
right.  However I believe this mirror is more like art work
than a mirror.  I love all of the earth tone colors and that is
kind of has a funky element to it!
I was so excited that I finally got to use these two large flower vases!
These were an excellent find over the Summer from a garage sale!
Both for only $5!!!! Woot Woot :)

Now onto the storage I have been talking about:)

I purchase the four basket below for only $6 each.
They currently hold all of my table napkins, runners, and
table clothes.  I think it really looks like a totally different
piece of furniture since I added the baskets.
On this wall we have our buffet piece which already has
a lot of storage available in the drawers.  I store extra silverware and
candles in this area.  So I decided to add a few baskets for extra storage
but haven't actually filled them yet which is exciting!

So now I can buy more dinning room goodies since
I have un-used bins right?? :)

Well I hope your week is going well and your
off to a good start on all of those
New Years Resolutions:)

Living Room Revamp!

I am back in LOVE with our Living Room:)
It seems like I was having a love hate relationship with this room.
I would try to make our living room into what I wanted by buying
more pieces and moving things around on the wall but
all I seemed to do was make our walls
look like Swiss Cheese! :)

So I decided to do it right and take everything off of the
walls, fix all of the holes, and paint the entire room a litter color!
Well I can't take all of the credit my hubby did fix all
of the holes for me and helped me re-hang everything!
So a HUGE thank you to him:)  I think we both are
happy that we gave the living room a little face-lift :)

So now onto some pictures!
Below is a before picture.  It wasn't a bad color but just a little drab.

Now here is pretty much the same view of the room, just
much brighter and less on the walls which I think makes the room feel
larger and cleaner:)

Now here is a before picture of the other side of our living room.
I wish I would have taken one before I started to give you a better
idea of what the room looked like without the Christmas Tree and us
standing in the view!  Oh well I think you will see the difference.

Now below you will see the lighter color choice, new curtains,
and we decided to move around some of our decor items.
I love clocks so I decided to take a wall and make them
into art/focal point of that side of the room.

Below is another view of the room after its transformation!
I love the feel of the room!

Well I hope you enjoyed the new living room tour:)
It is kind of amazing what a little paint and planning
can do to a room!

So have you been busy this week with any projects?
Please share your blog link, I would love to what you have done!

Have a great week!

New Bathroom Bliss!

What a difference a little paint and elbow grease can do!

Our down stairs bathroom also serves as a laundry
room so it is pretty good size which is nice but it always felt
a little dark and closed off so with a new color scheme,
new vanity, and a complete cleaning we have a new bathroom
that I LOVE :)

I really love how all of the colors in the new vanity
came together with the new paint color.

We used Behr Paint & Primer in
Brown Tepee

I really like Behr paint, it covers so nicely and they
have such a nice variety of colors.

Here is a couple of before pictures:

These pictures were taken right before I was getting
ready to paint.

Over here I tried out a few colors to see
which one would look nice before I painted the entire room.

I tried to plan it out and tape everything off.  It
is kind of a pain while you are doing it but it pays off in the
end!  For me it seems like I can paint faster and make less of a mess:)

Now onto the New Color!!

I think the lighter pallet really brightened up
the room and gave it a bigger feel!

Now onto my favorite update that we did.....
the new vanity!!

Here is another view of the vanity.  I was really happy that we
could keep the mirror in this room and that it would tie
in with the new color scheme and vanity!  It has such
pretty detail and think it just adds a little elegance to the room!

Well I hope you have enjoyed the new bathroom tour!
Stop back by to the living room transformation:)

I will be linking up with the following blog parties:
