New Pantry Area-Organized!!

I am so excited to share with you our new
pantry area in our kitchen!  We didn't really have this
area before because we really do have plenty of cabinets in our
kitchen but the ones I used for our food storage were
very deep and hard to keep track of what we had.

Here is a small coat closet as you first walk into our kitchen.
I didn't feel as though we utilized the space as well as we could so
I decided I would sweet talk the hubby into putting in some shelves
and turning it into a pantry!
With a little bit of persistence........... wink wink
He agreed!

Now on the other side of the kitchen
is where I use to store all of our snacks, can goods, and
pantry items.
I am kind of embarrassed to show this to you because
it is a Hot MESS but it was actually really hard to keep organized!

Speaking of embarrassed I found can good from 2009!!  YIKES!
Needless to say the trash was heavy this week:)

Back over to the pantry area, my hubby was so nice
and surprised me with a fresh coat of white paint!  I think
it really makes a huge difference and is so easy to see what you
have and need to get at the store!
Below are a couple of after pictures with all of
the goodies inside, labeled, and most of organized!
I didn't want to break the bank with this project so I got
all of my containers but two at the dollar store!
With a little imagination, scrapbook paper, and labels
the dollar store container too can be pretty:)

I think being organized has actually helped me cut
down on some of my spending at the store.
Before I never really knew what I had or wanted to take the time
to look through the cupboards because to be honest it was a little
overwhelming! Since finishing this project I take a couple of minutes a week
to go through and see what I have and haven't used and then
build my grocery list from there.  It actually seems like we
have more variety in our meals as well:)

Just a close up of a few of the baskets.
I have one whole shelf devoted to snacks,
the shelf you see in the picture below contains:
Seasoning Mixes
Drink Mixes
Oatmeal
&
Salad Toppings

This project came together after reading the blog
I Heart Organizing!
She is amazing and I love all of her ideas, tips
and decorating for an organized and pretty space!

Make sure to stop by her blog!

This month's challenge is organizing your kitchen!
I finished this one just in time!

Make sure to stop back by to see
what I did with our old pantry closet!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Monday!

Safe Haven Movie & Book

Well first of all I love Nicholas Sparks books and inspired movies!
I can't help it, I am a hopeless romantic!!

For our Valentine's Day/Anniversary date we went
and saw Safe Haven!  It is now one of my favorite movies!

I feel bad that I went to see it without finishing the book first
but I couldn't wait!  If you get a chance get a bunch of girls
together to go see it!  You might have to twist your hubby
or boyfriend's arm for this one but definitely go see it
and the book is also a must read!!

I love Julianne's hair in the movie!  She is so pretty and Josh
Duhamel is not too bad on the eyes either!  They really have
great chemistry for this movie:)

Happy Friday to you!
Remember to Love, Love:)

Love...... Acts of Service ;)

Well first of all Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you enjoy the day with the ones you love!

I thought today would be a good day to share this post with you
since it has to do with Love:)

I wanted to share with you one of the Five Love
Languages....
Acts of Service

I think this one is my favorite of all 5 and my
husband knows it!  He definitely knows the way to my
heart which I love!
This past weekend my hubby finished up a project I have
been wanting to do for awhile and now it is complete......

A wall of our wedding photos!

I am so excited to share this with you!
Here he is in all of his glory doing something special for his girl:)

This what I mean by acts of service:)
I know he would rather be watching the golf channel
or out in the garage working on one of his own projects
but instead on Saturday afternoon he is hanging pictures and
helping me pick out our wedding photos that would like nice in the frames.
No Valentine's Day present can top that!

I LOVE YOU BABE!

And now the final project:)
I really love how it turned out!
My best friend gave me the Life Is Good sign
as a wedding gift so I thought it was fitting for the space!
Here is another view of that corner of the room.
I am in LOVE with this wall now:)

Well if you have a couple of minutes today check out the
5 Love Languages, I think you will find it interesting:)

I hope everyone enjoys the day with the ones
they love!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Scrapbooking "SCRAP" Organization

My scrapbook room is an on going project
here in our house and probably will be for
years to come but I am ok with that because
I think this is my favorite room in the house to o
organize!

Today I wanted to share with you my
most recent way to store my scraps.
It seems like when I am done with my project I
also have smaller pieces left over that I just
can't seem to part with but over time they just
lay in a pile and it becomes over whelming.
SO................
that is where my new organization comes into play!
I bought this rolling cart at a yard sale a couple of
years ago for only $5 and it came with the hanging folders!
I used it for a long time for our personal bills
but we really didn't need this much space and I
like to keep that kind of information a little more
sealed in a desk drawer.

So I decided to make this into my
"Scraps" storage area!

My hubby got me this cute sign at a
local antique store on one of our dates
and I thought it would be perfect on the front of
my cart to give it a little flair!

Below I organized the dividers by how
I scrapbook, everyone is different so organize your space
to fit your needs and style.

I went by colors, patterns, and themes.
This method really seems to work for me because
if I am working on a project and need something to coordinate
with it I can go right to the tap and find what I need!

Remember Rome wasn't built in a day and organizing
your space doesn't have to be done all at once:)

I know I have changed around my space more times than
I can count so don't get frustrated if you don't
have all of the time and money to do it at once:)

Happy Scrapping!

Hobby Lobby Love!

Well it is official............. I AM IN LOVE
with Hobby Lobby!

I am sure that is no big surprise to most of you that
have been there before but this past weekend I scored
all of this great loot for only $80!!

(6) Picture Frames
(5) signs/pictures
(4) decorative signs
Vases, and much much more!!

I have a few projects in mind in which I am going to use
some of my new found treasures in!!

I love to shop in the clearance section because you never know what
you may find!  I think the picture frames were the best
deal because it nice to have some extras
on hand to change out pictures or even to give
as gifts!  So if you don't mind to dig a little that
hit the clearance section and you never know what you may
find!

Happy Friday to you!
Get out there and get your "Bargain"

Pink, White, & Black Closet!

Happy February!!

Can you believe that we are already on the second month
of this year!!  Where does the time go??
Well I know where my has been going...............
Cleaning, organizing, painting, and having
fun in my clean craft room :)  but that
is a whole other post which I hope to share with you soon.

But for now I would like to share with you my
new closet space in my dressing room area/office.

Ok below is the before picture:
Yikes!! What a HOT MESS!!

So I started from scratch!
Removed all of the clutter....
Cleaned...

and then put a fresh coat of
white paint on it!!
Much brighter and cleaner looking.

I decided to give this shelf a little pizazz with wrapping paper and ribbon!
I just wrapped the shelf with the wrapping paper like you would with package
just in case I wanted to change the color scheme.  I then hot glued the ribbon to the
edges of the shelves.
Below is how it turned out!
I really like how pretty and organized it is.
I can actually find everything and makes getting ready in the morning
a breeze!

I found some fun signs in the dollar section at
Michael's and thought they would look cute!

On this shelf I have my wallets, perfume,
small shoe jewelry, and lotion.
Below this shelf in the bins are purses and bags.

Lastly I have an over the door organizer for my
favorite scarfs!

Well I hope you have enjoyed the closet re-vamp
and maybe got a few ideas to try!

Happy Sunday!
