The Conch Republic-Key West!

Today I wanted to share with you some of our pictures from our
trip to Key West.  We really did have a great time:)
We got very lucky with our weather!  Most days it was
was in the mid to high 70s, which is perfect:)
The week before we got there it was in the 50-60s :(

Here is a picture of the airport as you get off the plane.
The airport in Key West is pretty small but still nice.

Here is a picture of our resort at night by the pool.
We stayed at the Mariott Beachside Resort, which was
very nice and convenient to downtown Key West/Duval Street.

During our visit we did get in two rounds of golf!

There were quite a few iguanas around the course, which
is something you don't see in PA :)  This guy was pretty big!

Here he is going across the lake!  Boy they are quick!!

Below are a couple of pictures from around the down town area
and Duval Street.

We had a Key Lime Oatmeal Raisin cookie at Kermit's,
I must say it was pretty yummy!

I believe I took this picture after the cookie....
two very happy customers:)

I really love this painting on the building below.
It was done by an artist name Wyland, which I believe just finished his
100th painting on the Great Wall of China!
Below is his website, stop by and check out all of the beautiful features
he has done!

I think I fit in pretty nice with these turtles!

A picture of the hubby with "Sponge Man"

Of course we had to eat at Margaritaville!
Jimmy Buffet was actually in Key West the week before we were
there at his recording studio, which we also got to see:)
You can't help but feel good with a little bit
of Jimmy Buffet's music on!

A stop by Mallory Square to visit the shipwreck
museum and aquarium.

Below is the view from the top deck
area of the shipwreck museum.  You
get to see how beautiful Key West really is!

Look at these cookies!  I refrained from eating
one but boy it was so tempting.  Every time
we walked by it smelled so good!

At the aquarium we got to hold a conch and got
to see it come out of its shell. They really are kind of
cool looking..............needless to say
I didn't eat any more of the conch fritters:(
I must admit they are very good!

I have to admit this was one of my favorite trips
we have taken!

I would love to hear if you have any trips planned or
have went on any recently!  I love to hear about new places
to visit!

Thanks for stopping by!

New Kitchen Storage

As of late my main motivation around our house is to get organized!!
It seems that the more spaces I get organized the
easier my life gets:)  I LOVE IT!
Ever since adding the pantry to our kitchen it has opened
up a lot of cabinet space!

Here is the before picture of my pantry area before adding
shelving to a coat closet to make it into what is now our
new and improved pantry!!

You can check out the full transformation here:

After you will see my newly organized pots and pans
closet!
I love how everything is easily seen and there is no digging
through drawers any more looking for the lid that matches
the pan which you are cooking in!
This closet contains the following shelves:
Top Shelf: Baking, Muffin Pans, Cookie Sheets, Etc.
Second to the Top: Pie Pans, Taco Shell Pans, Etc.
Last Shelf in this Cabinet: This shelf actually has a little extra room if we need to
grow which is nice!  This shelf contains, aluminium foil, wax paper,
baking cups, etc.

Bottom Cabinet:
First Shelf: Baking Casseroles & Loaf Pans
Second Shelf: Extra Knife Set and Lid Storage
The rack that is holding the lids is from Ikea.  It was a great find at
only $5.99 because it holds up to 10 lids and expands to fit your needs!
Last Shelf: Pan Storage & Fire Extinguisher ( just in case:) )
I bought the pan stacker organizer at Lowe's for $8.99
It really helps to keep down on the clutter and you can easily see
what sizes you have so it makes cooking a breeze!

Below are two close up photos of the shelves.

Well for less than $25 and 45 minutes of my time
I have two more organized spaces in my kitchen!
Yeah!!!

I hope this has given you a couple of ideas
to help you get a space organized around your house!

Since we have been working so hard around the house we
took a couple days off to go on vacation!!
Stop back I would love to share our pictures with you
from our trip to Key West!! :)

Now back to reality of 35 degree weather:(
Happy Friday!!

Wrapping Paper Station!

I don't know about you but I love to give and sometimes
receive gifts.............but what I really love is the
wrapping and presentation of a package!! :)
I have to admit I am very lucky to have a separate
craft room where I am able to store all of my goodies for
such things as a wrapping station!

However I do feel you could set up a similar
area in a closet or in a home office space.

In one corner of my attic space which is where my craft
room is located I turned it into a functional ribbon, wrapping paper,
and bow storage area!

Below is an over view picture of the space.

Here is a cheap storage rack that
my Mom picked up for me at a garage sale.
I gave each bin a labeled tag with what
it contains in each compartment.

For example these bottom three hold:
Tissue Paper
Gift Bags &
Gift Boxes
Easily seen and easy to find when you are in a hurry!

To the right of that storage is where I actually keep
all of my bows and wrapping paper.
I got this little organizer at Michael's
when they were having one of their 50% off coupons!  Woot Woot!
I think I paid close to $20 for it and it was totally worth it!
I put the bows in glass vases so I could see what colors I had on hand.
I try to use what I have around the house for most of my projects to
keep down the costs of all the projects I want to do:)

Up close view of the bow storage area.

Last but not least my ribbon storage!
I have to admit I love ribbon!!!!
I found a picture of a similar system a long time ago in a
magazine and thought this would be a great way to store
all of my ribbon.  All I used was a couple of eye hooks and
dow rods that you can get at any hardware store.  The nice thing
about this project is how inexpensive and easy it is!

Well thank you for stopping by!
Here's to Happy Wrapping!

Kitchen Drawer Organization

Happy March 1st!
I am getting so excited................ I can feel it Spring is around the corner!

This month is super busy for us so I wanted to try to get as
many project done as possible around the house.

I started in the kitchen with the pantry and have now have moved
on to the kitchen drawers!

A couple of weeks ago I went to Ikea and bought a couple
of plastic containers for these drawers to help with this mess!

Here is the before:
It was always a challenge to find what you were looking for
not to mention to try to close it!
After:
This drawer organizer was $2.99 from Ikea
and now holds all of our small kitchen appliances.

Below is another drawer that needed attention in a bad way!

Below is the after:
Nice and organized!
These organizers were only $0.99 each!
Another great find from Ikea!
Last One: Before

Below is the after picture with all of our
grilling utentels organized! Finally :)

Well finally I feel like I am making headway and really
getting our house organized.
Total cost for the organizers: $7.00
and only about 20 minutes of my time!
Not to bad:)

I hope you had a great weekend and maybe
finished or started one of those projects you have been
meaning to do!
